The South Pacific Business Development Foundation (SPBD), which lends out funds for small development projects at the grassroots level, celebrated their 10th anniversary.
SPBD's contributions to the development of Samoa's economy has been tremendous. Like W-CAP they focus on encouraging women to follow their dreams, develop their own business and set goals thereby improving their living condition.
Congratulations to SPBD!

South Pacific Business Development
The South Pacific Business Development Foundation (SPB) has been very influential in helping women make major contributions to their communities while supporting their families. Through their micro-finance program they have helped over 8,137 women with $16.1 million tala since 1999. W-CAP is just getting off the ground with their micro-finance program and is hoping to model the success of SPB.

Higher Ground
On September 29, 2009 a 32 foot tsunami wave hit the eastern coast of Samoa at 6:48 am. From that disaster came the inspiration for the Women's Community Action Program (W-CAP) to help families re-build their lives.
The following video shows footage from the devastation and has a wonderful message of hope.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan at this time.
